USAID supports health sector reform and decentralization that enables local organizations to provide health services to those in need, and allows the Ministry of Health to focus on financing, regulating, and evaluating these organizations.
USAID's Health program in Honduras aims to:
- reduce maternal and child mortality rates;
- support comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs;
- expand access to family planning and reproductive health programs; and
- improve child health through access to nutrition programs.
