India supports 16 and 18 percent of the world's human and cattle populations respectively, with about 2.5 percent of the world's geographic area and only two percent of global forest cover.

Scaling-up energy efficiency practices will make electricity more productive and support expansion of the national grid to under-served parts of India. Demonstrating innovative technologies, practices and partnerships, as well as reducing market barriers to create a more “clean-energy conducive” environment, will help bring these clean energy practices to scale.
