In Malawi, USAID supports institutions and agents of democratic accountability.

USAID's Democracy and Governance programs in Malawi:

  • Promote government institutions that are democratic, effective, responsive, sustainable, and accountable to citizens; and
  • Ensure that elections are competitive and reflect the will of an informed citizenry.
