USAID's Democracy and Governance programs in Uganda make political processes more accountable and participatory, improve the enabling environment for service delivery, and strengthen peace-building and conflict mitigation.

USAID's Democracy and Governance program in Uganda works with the Government of Uganda to:

  • Strengthen the capacity of national and local governments;
  • Consolidate a new multi-party system; and
  • Broaden citizen participation through civil society organizations.
